SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – Clean up is underway, after a car smashes into a fire hydrant in Little Italy, sending water gushing into the air.
The accident happened on Kettner and West Date around midnight.
At one point, water was gushing up to 60 feet high.
A nearby apartment complex was soaked and at least one unit suffered serious water damage to the dry wall and carpeting.
Meanwhile, the car that hit the hydrant drove off and was found in a parking lot.
