SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 75 percent interest in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel has been purchased by an Orange County-based hotel investment firm, which announced the transaction Tuesday in a quarterly financial report.
Sunstone Hotel Investors, of Aliso Viejo, reported that the transaction will bring the value of the 30-story, 1,190-room downtown hotel, which opened in 2008, to $475 million.
Sunstone owns 33 mostly upscale hotels operating under the Marriott, Fairmont, Hilton and Hyatt brand names.
Hilton Worldwide will continue to operate the hotel and own the remaining 25 percent.
