OCEANSIDE (CNS) - An elderly man with Alzheimer's disease who went missing from his home in Oceanside has been found dead, Captain Leonard Mata of the Oceanside Police Department announced Thursday.

The body of Robert "Bob" Worden was found in a brush area not far from his home at about 6:40 a.m., by a local resident who called police, Mata said. There were no signs of foul play.

Worden was reported missing from his residence in the 3900 block of North Vista Campana at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities presumed Worden walked away from his home, and his age and medical condition put him at risk for injury,

The search for Worden involved about a dozen police officers and a search and rescue team from San Diego. Authorities searched the neighborhood and canyon areas in the Mission Avenue and El Camino Real corridor by ground and by helicopter.
