FALLBROOK (CNS) - A pilot sustained life-threatening injuries Sunday when his small single-engine plane lifted off but then crashed into a hangar at the Fallbrook Airpark, according to the North County Fire Protection District.
The 45-year-old Oceanside man lost control of the aircraft upon takeoff and crashed into the hangar about 8:55 a.m., said John Buchanan, spokesman for the North County Fire Protection District.
The pilot sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido to be treated, Buchanan said.
Buchanan said the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation.
