MIRAMAR (CBS 8) - Three lanes of northbound Interstate 15 were blocked during Monday's morning commute because of a seven-vehicle collision that sent seven people to hospitals.
A SigAlert was issued after the multi-vehicle crash caused major traffic delays for motorists heading northbound on I-15.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday on I-15 near Carroll Canyon Road, just south of Miramar Road.
According to CHP, at least three lanes were closed on NB I-15, and the off-ramp at Miramar Road was blocked.
As many as seven cars, including a semi-truck, were involved in this crash. Around 8:20 a.m., CHP opened the NB I-15 Express Lanes to all motorists.
Paramedics took seven people to various hospitals, a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher said. The extent of the injuries was not immediately released.
