CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - A witness is being credited for leading police to a man suspected of trying to rob a Taco Bell restaurant in Chula Vista.
It happened July 23 at the Taco Bell in the 600 block of E Street.
The would-be robber went behind the counter, yelled at customers to get on the ground and then held a knife to two employees. He ended up leaving the store after being told employees didn't have access to the safe.
That's when a witness began following him in her car, and called police to let them know he had changed clothing and had walked to the E Street trolley station. That's where officers made the arrest.
