SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - We are less than a week away from the grand opening of San Diego's new central library in the East Village.
On Wednesday, our cameras were allowed inside for a first look.
The nearly $200 million facility will feature a state-of-the art auditorium, high-tech computer lab and much more for the entire community to enjoy.
"This is a library that is a dream come true. It is 30 years in the making. San Diegans have been waiting for it and they will be so amazed, surprised and happy when they come into this library," city librarian Deborah Barrow said.
The new central library officially opens on Monday, but a special community celebration, which includes a sneak preview of the library, will be held on Saturday.
