SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Sunday, more than 750 cyclists completed the final stretch of a two day bike riding event to raise money in the fight against cancer.
Riders returned to UC San Diego Riders Park at the corner of Campus Point and Voigt after biking courses ranging from 10 to 150 miles.
Pedal the Cause is an event sponsored by the KFMB stations.
All the money raised will go to research at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies.
"Raising awareness is really the call of the day, and informing other people about what's going on with the disease, and bringing the community together under one umbrella is really the call of the day," said cancer survivor, Clay Treska.
