It happened Sunday at the foot of Osprey Street around 2 p.m. Authorities say it started as a group jump with eight to 10 people.
Some managed to make it out of the water okay, but others needed help getting back to land because the surf was just too strong.
"The waves came after me like they pushed me off and I fell back and I couldn't get back up and every time I would, the water kept going in my mouth," Shaiene Ramirez said.
Lifeguard units rescued two of the people with a rescue rig and used a stretcher for the third person.
Several people also received tickets for making that illegal jump.
