SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - As temperatures are warming up, we are seeing an increasing number of rattlesnakes all over the county.
Hikers have spotted several rattlesnakes along Cowles Mountain and a Rancho Bernardo resident says her bulldog was attacked and bitten in the face by a rattlesnake in their backyard.
The bulldog is expected to make a full recovery.
Veterinarians say anyone taking their dog on a hike should keep them on a short leash to prevent them from going into shrubs and bushes where rattlesnakes like to hide.
CBS News 8's Steve Price has more details from Cowles Mountain in this video report.
