VISTA (CBS 8) - It was a wet and muddy start to Friday morning for some homeowners in the North County.
A water main pipe broke, creating a large sinkhole, which sent gushing water and mud into several front yards, garages and basements in the 1200 block of Coventry Road in Vista.
"I opened the front door and water was gushing through my yard and my doorsteps. I couldn't even get out of the house," said homeowner, Doris Dow.
The sinkhole was about the size of a very small car and also broke up the pavement in one driveway. About 10 residents were impacted. City crews were expected to be on the scene through noon Friday.
The cause of the water main break is unknown as of this report.
