SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Power has been restored in the downtown area, after an electrical vault explosion in downtown San Diego caused Gaslamp District businesses to be evacuated on Wednesday night.
Firefighters were called to 6th and J Streets, after receiving reports of an explosion and smoke coming from a manhole cover.
Surrounding businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
The problem was reportedly caused by a cable failure.
