SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Syracuse University director of player personnel Dave Boller has been hired as general manager of San Diego's team in the Alliance of American Football, reuniting him with coach Mike Martz, the team announced.
Boller was a scout with the St. Louis Rams from 2004-07. Martz coached the Rams from 2000-05. Boller was assistant pro director for the Detroit Lions from 2007-09. Martz was the team's offensive coordinator from 2006-07.
Boller was Arizona State's director of football operations from 1985- 95. Martz was an assistant coach with the Sun Devils from 1983-91.
Boller joined Syracuse in 2017 after being Louisville's director of on- campus recruiting in 2015 and director of high school relations in 2016.
Boller was an scout for the New York Jets from 2013-14, Philadelphia Eagles from 1998-2004 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1995-98.
The eight-team Alliance of American football is set to begin play Feb. 9.
