SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Deputy Richard Fischer, the San Diego Sheriff’s deputy who has been charged with groping and sexually assaulting 16 women he encountered on patrol was back in court on Tuesday.
Tuesday was a status conference in the case that has been in the making since September 2015.
Fischer faces accusations from multiple women including one who was stopped in El Cajon for not having a working license plate light. She alleges that Fischer searched her 3 times, unbuckling her seat belt and touching her breasts. The Fischer family’s 62-year-old babysitter even joined the woman accusing the deputy of sexual misconduct in 2018.
Deputy Fischer say he and his wife pray that his good name will be cleared.
Fischer has pleaded not guilty to the host of charges he faces, which includes new charges that were filed in August including oral copulation by force.
Fischer is currently out on bail.
