SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A body was found floating in the ocean on Friday off the coast of Point Loma.
The discovery was reported about 9:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Lifeguards retrieved the corpse and transported it to their Mission Bay headquarters, SDFRD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.
The county Medical Examiner's Office was called in to take custody of the body for identification and autopsy purposes.
No description of the deceased person was immediately available.
