SAN DIEGO — Esmeralda Perez is a bilingual Multiskilled journalist for CBS 8 in San Diego, California.
Born and Raised in North County San Diego, it's an honor for her to be part of CBS 8 and connect with her community.
After graduating from California State University Long Beach with her B.A. in Journalism, Perez began her career in San Angelo, Texas as a Multiskilled Journalist. In 2022, Perez became the weekday evening solo anchor.
While still at the anchor desk, she looked for ways to inform her community through storytelling. In West Texas, she covered a variety of stories including wildfires, severe weather and crime.
Perez is Mexican-American, fluent in Spanish and English. She is proud to represent her culture and bring issues affecting her community to light.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, trying out different restaurants and cooking.
