ESCONDIDO, Calif. — Classics, customs and hot rods will be on full display on Friday as “Cruisin' Grand” rolls through the heart of downtown Escondido.

According to organizers, the event is focused on what works with the community history. This Friday means cars from 1973 and earlier including American-made classics, vintage, muscle cars and hot rods. All these types of cars will be on full display while cruising Grand Avenue in Escondido just like they did 50-60 years ago.

The family friendly event will not only feature cars, but also hula hoops, name that tune contests, live DJ's, kettle corn and much more. In addition, local restaurants, cafes, pubs and specialty retail stores near the cruise will stay open late.

Parking for “event-era” cars is on Grand Avenue and side streets, from Escondido to Ivy Street. The event is open to pre-1974 vintage, antique, hot rods, and muscle cars.

As part of the event, there will be awards given out for five selected cars. There is no pre-registration required and no fees to enter the contest.
