This comes after a fire started along I-15 in Rancho Bernardo and two fires broke out over the weekend—one in Otay Lakes the other in Campo.
Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the 5-acre EscalaFire burning on Battle Mountain in Rancho Bernardo alongside northbound Interstate 15 Monday afternoon.
The flames broke out near Escala & Chretien Ct. around 2:45 p.m. and were burning at a slow rate of spread, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue.
Cal-Fire said crews have contained the Border34Fire in Otay Lakes that sparked Sunday evening. Firefighters stopped the spread at 20 acres. Crews have been monitoring the area in case they need to put out any hotspots or flare-ups.
Cal Fire also responded to the MillerFire that broke out Sunday night off Interstate 8 in Campo. Officials said it's now been contained—they stopped the forward rate at 2 acres. Crews have also stayed overnight to monitor any hotspots.
