SAN DIEGO — A San Diego State graduate debuted on a new business show "Buy It Now" on Amazon Prime similar to the show Shark Tank.
"It was very nerve-racking but at the same time I also felt very comfortable because it was my product. Something I'd worked on for the past 10 years," said Tiffany Gil, an entrepreneur and SDSU graduate.
She had 90 seconds to pitch her product, Shezza socks, on the show. They have foam padding in the heel to prevent blisters. Since their invention, they've gone viral on social media with more than 100 million views.
"Whether you're breaking in new boots, playing sports or just on your feet all day, Shezza socks will protect your heels so you can keep going," she said.
The show is filmed in front of a live audience and panel of celebrity judges. Gil's pitch was a major success and she won her episode of the show.
She says she wouldn't be where she is today without SDSU's entrepreneurship program. Tonight was a full circle moment watching the show in the Entrepreneurship Center. It's the place Shezza socks came to life. She had words of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.
"Know that it is challenging but no matter what career you choose it's going to be hard. You have to choose what hard you want," she said.
