Girl Scouts kicking off 2024 Cookie program

It's that time of year! The Girl Scouts of San Diego are selling their famous cookies once again this year, starting January 28.

SAN DIEGO — It's that time of year once again, the Girl Scouts of America are ready to start selling their fan-favorite cookies. The program kicks off on January 28 with cookie booths opening across the country on February 9.

Thousands of girls participate in this program every year, learning valuable skills and making friends along the way.

The Girl Scouts of America said 100% of the proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie Program stay in the local economy. The Cookie program funds benefit over 24,000 youth and adult members with year-round leadership development, volunteer training, outdoor activities, upkeeping property and financial assistance.

“This year, more than 9,500 resourceful Girl Scout entrepreneurs will engage in the cookie program,” said Carol Dedrich, CEO of Girl Scouts San Diego. “The 2024 program theme, Unbox the Future, speaks to overcoming the barriers that often keep girls boxed in. The impact of the cookie program is tremendous; Girl Scouts are equipped with vital and out-of-the-box entrepreneurial and life skills that help prepare them for a limitless, equitable future.”

Girls can learn essential skills through the Cookie program. They learn important business skills like setting goals, decision-making, money management, interpersonal skills, business ethics and more, just from selling cookies.

If you are interested in supporting the Girl Scouts, you can donate packages to Operation Thin Mint which originated in San Diego.

The 2024 Girl Scout Cookie flavors are:
