David Gotfredson is an investigative producer, focusing on special reports and in-depth investigations for KFMB-TV in San Diego, California.
David Gotfredson joined KFMB News 8 as a field producer in 2000. He currently works as an investigative producer, focusing on special reports and in-depth investigations. He holds a BA in Communication/Visual Arts from UCSD and a MA in Communication from UNLV.
Over the course of 30+ years as a journalist, Gotfredson has received the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting from the Radio Television Digital News Association; 11 Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter; two Golden Mike Awards from the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California; and several awards from the San Diego Press Club and the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
Gotfredson previously worked at KGTV, KNSD, KUSI and KLAS in Las Vegas. He is married with two daughters. In his free time, Gotfredson volunteers with the Motor Transport Museum in Campo, CA, working to restore antique trucks. He also enjoys dual-sport motorcycle riding in San Diego’s backcountry.
