Alexandra Daddario is having a baby!
The White Lotus star, 38, shared the news and talked about her road to motherhood in an article published by Vogue on Wednesday. She is expecting her first child with her husband, film producer Andrew Form, whom she tied the knot within New Orleans in June 2022 after getting engaged in 2021.
Daddario has successfully kept her pregnancy quiet for the past six months to most of the world by wearing baggy clothing and avoiding people, but she couldn't hide her extreme morning sickness from her Mayfair Witches cast.
"I was on set, and I was throwing up and having make-out scenes with my co-stars right after," Daddario tells the outlet of how her castmates quickly figured out she was expecting. "By week five, I was like, There's no way I’m going to be able to hide this."
But that wasn't the only thing that gave her secret away. Daddario told the crew she couldn't have deli meats, which raised some eyebrows, so she fessed up.
"I was like, If I tell my job that I'm pregnant, I'm going to get a lot of time off to go throw up in peace," she continues to the outlet. Did it work? "No," she responds, laughing. "[However] I have wonderful co-stars who have kids, and everyone was very understanding about making out with a nauseous, vomiting girl."
Daddario is a stepmom to Form's two children, sons Julian and Rowan, from his previous marriage to Jordana Brewster. The former couple was married from 2007 to 2021.
Even though Daddario is overjoyed about being pregnant, she sadly reveals "it was actually quite hard to process" when she found out because it's not her first time. "You have a lot of complicated feelings."
"I feel like now that I'm pregnant and it's all successful and everything's healthy, I shouldn't complain," Daddario says, her smile wavering.
"Well, I had been pregnant," she continues before trailing off. "I had loss."
"It's long and complicated, so I don't want to be too specific," she tells the outlet softly. "Those kinds of losses and trauma are very hard to explain unless you've been through them. I really relate to all the women who have been through those kinds of things in a way that I didn't understand fully before. It's very, very painful."
But now Daddario is letting herself feel excited. She's welcoming maternity style and no longer hiding her baby bump under baggy clothes.
"I'm finally embracing it," she says. "I can show it off."
