Brian Tyree Henry agrees with the fans who think Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be the perfect James Bond.
Talking with ET's Denny Directo from the premiere of his new film, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the 41-year-old movie star said that when it comes to rumors that his Bullet Train co-star will soon transform into 007, he could not be more on board.
"Everything about that is perfect," the Causeway actor told ET. "He is absolutely stealthy, he looks amazing, he is a great actor."
With a wink to the camera, Henry added, "I hope I can be his Bond villain."
In the 2022 film, the American actor and the English star, 33, played the chaotic and lovable work partners Lemon and Tangerine, the pair in possession of a briefcase that Brad Pitt's character was in search of. Their hilarious back-and-forth banter became a highlight of the movie, with some even calling for Henry and Taylor-Johnson to get their own spinoff film or series.

It has yet to be confirmed if Taylor-Johnson -- who will appear next in The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt -- has accepted the 007 role. It was first reported by The Sun in mid-March that EON -- the production company behind the franchise -- had offered the Avengers: Age of Ultron star the role and were just waiting on his response.
"Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back," a source told the outlet. "As far as EON is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement."
Furthermore, in an interview with Rolling Stone U.K. released on March 20, Taylor-Johnson was asked about whether there is any truth to the swirling speculation over his casting. He reportedly sat in silence and changed the subject.
"I can only really talk about the things I'm going to show and tell," he shared. "So The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, Kraven the Hunter. I’m here to promote those."
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is rumored to be the next James Bond
While Taylor-Johnson continues to promote his own upcoming films (and seemingly dodge 007 questions like Bond dodges bullets), Henry is similarly keeping his sights on promoting Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
In the new installment, the Atlanta alum reprises his role as Bernie Hayes from the 2021 film, Godzilla vs. Kong. He described working on another installment in the beloved universe as an escalation from the original movie and "punk rock."
"This one was much more punk rock. You know [director] Adam Wingard, amazing leader, came in with the vision where we were just gonna like amp it up. It felt like more of an upgrade for both of them," he said of both titular monsters. "As you can see, Godzilla's got these pink spikes, King's got the fists. We're screaming 'Oh my god' 170 times. So it felt more punk rock. It felt like a KISS concert."
