'Madame Web' First Look: Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney Explain Their New Marvel Characters (Exclusive)

Madame Web is bringing a totally new dynamic -- and several new heroes -- to the Sony/Marvel cinematic unvierse.

In ET's exclusive look at the upcoming film, star Dakota Johnson opens up about her titular clairvoyant -- real name: Cassandra "Cassie" Webb -- whom she describes as a "a truly dynamic character."

"When you first meet Cassie, she is a paramedic in New York City, and doesn't really let people in," Johnson explains. "And then, things take quite a turn."

After a near-death experience, Cassie receives supernatural powers, which allow her to see into the future and change the events to come.

It's not all smooth sailing, however, as Johnson admits, "When Cassie begins to experience her clairvoyance, she thinks she's losing her mind."

As she develops her powers, Cassie comes across three young women, played by Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, Instant Family's Isabela Merced, and Selah and the Spades standout Celeste O'Connor.

"In this one moment, Cassie connects all three of their lives," Sweeney says of the quartet's cosmic connection.

"Because she's able to see [the future], she's able to prevent it," Merced adds. "It's really interesting how it plays on fate, or destiny."

Ultimately, the three young women become heroes in their own right under Cassie's watchful eye. Sweeney plays the iteration of Spider-Woman known as Julia Carpenter, while O'Connor plays Mattie Franklin. Merced stars as yet another Spider-Woman, Anya Corazon, who becomes Araña.

The film also stars Tahar Rahim as Ezekiel Sims -- the film's antagonist, who dresses in a black iteration of the Spider-Man suit in order to hunt down Cassie and her trio of Spider-Women -- as well as Adam Scott, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps and Zosia Mamet.

Madame Web swings into theaters Feb. 14.
