Here are things to do at Comic-Con without a badge

If you don’t have a badge, here are some free, pop-up activations and activities located outside the San Diego Convention Center that you won’t want to miss.

SAN DIEGO — Thousands of pop culture fans will descend on Downtown San Diego this week for 2024 San Diego Comic-Con.

For four days, movies, television, gaming, multimedia and comic books will converge for the world’s most popular convention. 

If you don’t have a badge, here are free activations located outside the San Diego Convention Center that you won’t want to miss.

FX

  • One of the most popular outdoor activations is set to take over Downtown San Diego. Step into immersive experiences and take a picture in front of unique photo ops themed after your favorite FX shows. The activation will feature "The Bear", "American Horror Story", "What we do in the Shadows" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".
  • Thursday, July 25 - 11 am-6 pm
  • Friday, July 26/Saturday, July 27 - 10 am-6 pm
  • Sunday, July 28 - 11 am-4 pm
  • Located at the Hilton Bayfront Lawn

Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe 

  • Enjoy classic menu items along with a few exciting new menu items, including the Chaos Spear Fries and the Ultimate Fearless Dog inspired by Shadow’s favorite food, pizza.
  • Open beginning July 25 from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT daily. 
  • Located at 910 J Street Space 2
Comic-Con is returning to Downtown San Diego this week, exciting local fans and people from across the country who are traveling to San Diego for the event.


The Cat Café

  • Lions Tigers and Bears is hosting a free event at The Cat Café just a block away from the convention center. Visitors can enjoy some ''purr therapy'' and cat adoptions will be available. 
  • Open Saturday from 11 am-3 pm.
  • Located at The Cat Café, 302 Island Ave. San Diego

Hello Kitty Cafe Truck

  • Experience Comic-Con's cutest truck. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty with new edible goodies and limited edition merch.
  • Open Thursday, July 25 - Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dungeons and Dragons Store Takeover 

Adult Swim

  • Adult Swim is hosting a Pirate Party on the Green with custom games, free merch and nightly entertainment. Adult Swim will have a DJ playing live with laser sets starting at 9 p.m.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 

Hulu

  • Hulu is bringing its immersive Animayhem activation back to Downtown San Diego. Fans will enjoy an immersive experience and step inside some of Hulu's most popular series, including "Family Guy", "Futurama", "The Simpsons", and more.

Peacock

  • Take a trip to ancient Rome with Peacock's activation called, "Those About to Die: The Chariot Race". Experience the thrill of a chariot race and relive the action inside the world of ancient arena sports.
  • Thursday: 12 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Friday: 10 AM - 6:30 PM
  • Saturday: 10 AM - 6:30 PM
  • Sunday: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

IMDBoat

  • Hop onto the IMDboat and play a game of Lorcana, enjoy some pizza or take a photo in IMDB's Lord of the Rings: Ring of Power photo booth. If you're looking for a place to chill and enjoy some air conditioning, this is your spot.

MrBeast

  • Moose Toys and one of the world's most popular YouTube stars, MrBeast makes their official San Diego Comic-Con debut. Fans will get the chance to take selfies in an immersive, slime-filled world. Visitors can play themed-games and receive a free collectible and MrBeast Feastables chocolate bar.
