SAN DIEGO — Election Day is just around the corner. And it is so important to make your voice heard and exercise your right to vote. Getting to the polls may be challenging for many. That is why rideshare company Lyft is stepping up with discounted access to transportation, from rideshare trips to bike and scooter rides, on November 5. Lyft’s Senior Director and Head of Global Public Policy, Heather Foster, joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share all of the details.
Lyft is helping improve access to transportation for all with its Lyft Up Voting Access Program. To help voters get to the polls, Lyft is providing 50% off rides to the polls (up to $10) on Election Day with the promo code VOTE24. The code applies to bike and scooter rides in select cities as well.
“Often if people didn’t have reliable transportation, they may not go and vote,” said Foster. “At Lyft, we are all about being a force for good in our community, reducing transportation barriers. Since we’ve launched this program, we’ve now seen over 3 million people exercise their right to vote using the platform.”
Foster recommends that you preload the promo code VOTE24 into your Lyft app in the Rewards tab now. You’ll get a discounted ride on November 5.
Book a ride to the polls on November 5 and make your voice heard. Your preloaded promo code will automatically apply.
