Summer Fabric Care

Tips to Extend the Life of Your Clothes. Sponsored by Persil Laundry Detergent

We all have those go-to outfits that make us feel our best. You know the ones that we want to re-wear again and again. It could be a special T-shirt, comfy jeans or athleisure wear. The challenge is how to best take care of your clothes to keep them looking fresh.  Jennifer Rivera is the Director of Research and Development for Persil Laundry Detergent. She joins our Laura Cavanaugh  with her top tips to tackle tough stains, prevent color fading and to help athletic wear maintain its shape. Rivera also shares some of the biggest laundry mistakes that can damage clothing.

Rivera says you want to look for a detergent that contains fabric care ingredients like Persil. For tough summer stains, take a paper towel and wipe off the stain. Next flush the stain out with cold water. Then pre-treat with Persil Advanced Clean, which contains stain-fighting and odor-eliminating technology. After running the garment through the wash cycle, check that the stain is out before you place it in the dryer. Drying the garment before fully eliminating the stain can only set the stain in further.

To clean athletic and athleisure wear, Rivera recommends Persil Activewear Clean. It is designed to fight body oil and sweat, while helping maintain fabric shape and freshness.

“The reason that sometimes damage happens is that we are not measuring our liquid detergent appropriately. We’re either using too much or too little,” said Rivera. “So what I would recommend doing is using a     pre-measured laundry detergent like a Persil Ultra Pac to ensure you’re using an appropriate amount of detergent for your load.”

Persil Ultra Pacs are single-use laundry detergent pacs that are designed for convenience with more sustainable packaging. It offers a two-chamber formula which has been re-designed for quicker dissolvability. The quicker the pac dissolves, the quicker it cleans your clothes.

Persil helps keep clothes looking newer longer with detergents engineered for every need. Learn more at www.persillaundry.com
