SAN DIEGO — Wednesday is National Chocolate Chip Day and for the first time ever Heather Myers is sharing her secret family recipe for what she calls the very best chocolate chip cookies around.
The recipe was handed down to her from her late grandmother and she recently went to her mom’s kitchen to show how to make the Myers family makes them.

Myers family chocolate chip recipe
1 lb. butter at room temperature
2 C powdered sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 C flour
12 oz. chocolate chips
-preheat oven to 350
-Beat butter and sugar fast for at least one minute until thoroughly whipped. (Creamy consistency)
-slowly mix in salt, vanilla and flour
-mix in chocolate chips
-use ice cream scooper to place dough on cookie sheet.
-bake 12-14 minutes
-dip cookies in powdered sugar and serve
