LA MESA, Calif. — ‘Por Favor, a Mexican food and cantina restaurant in La Mesa Village could be facing changes in the near future. The business is up for sale after years of serving the community with Mexican cuisine.
“It's been a staple restaurant here at the corner with great outdoor seating, it's been out here for fifty years,” La Mesa Village Association Vice President Michelle Huey said.
There are two locations one in La Mesa Village and the second on Main Street in El Cajon. Now, its La Mesa location is up for sale.
“For a restaurant to retire, they need to sell, right? So it's a grinding business,” Huey said.
CBS 8 reached out to the restaurant and the realtor for an interview but were not available.
The La Mesa Village Association could not share information on what business will be coming next but they do mention that it will be a restaurant.
“Hopefully if it's for sale then you know whoever comes in it's a blessing for the community and whoever the owner is,” La Mesa Village visitor Wattana Khommarath
For some people visiting la mesa village, this restaurant gives them a taste of home with its Mexican food and comradery.
Reyna Esteban told CBS 8 in Spanish that she feels comfortable going to Por Favor since it's a Mexican restaurant and she can get help in Spanish, it's much easier for her.
Por Favor became a staple throughout the years, it's a bittersweet moment for the La Mesa Village community.
