SAN DIEGO — The United States Postal Service is filled to the brim with packages and letters addressed to Santa's North Pole home. As the man in red takes the final five days to pack for his international flight, his elves shared letters from some of San Diego's boys and girls to find out what they're wishing for this Christmas season.
CBS 8's Abbie Black reads the letters here:
He's checking his list twice making sure kids get their list in on time.
This year many kids want Santa to know they are into gaming.
“What I want for Christmas is a Roblox simulator $100 gift card,” wrote a child.
Other kids asked St. Nick for $100 but Jenaveve considered he may be on a budget and provided a detailed dossier.
“Pictures and decorating options and circled the price,” said Salina Delos Santos, USPS, Santa’s helper.
She is helping Santa send the letters written by San Diego children to the North Pole.
Traditional toys and tech are making the list such as Apple Watches and Legos.
Some gifts are making a comeback including My Little Pony and Barbie. But not all kids want toys.
“I also want a door sign that says, ‘Do Not Enter’” wrote a child.
Then Lex asked Santa for bait. Some kids were fishing to make the nice list and buttering up Santa and his reindeer.
“Please give my favorite reindeer, Rudolph, a hug and kiss for me,” said Reagan.
Another girl is trying to sweeten up Santa by taping candy to the letter.
Some kids like Daniel had to admit defeat.
“I only want you to pick one because I've been bad all year so I'm just asking for one thing,” wrote Daniel.
Talia is dreaming of a white Christmas.
“Dear Santa, I want snow because I've never seen snow before.”
Children hope inflation hasn’t impacted the North Pole.
“Dear Santa, I want an Apple watch, my parents can't afford it,” wrote a child.
This past year hasn't been easy for many San Diego families.
“I'm six-years-old and I have three sisters and money is really tight for my mommy so please help me get Christmas,” wrote Alys.
That thoughtfulness is helping Santa spread holiday cheer.
“Thank you I believe in you.”
