San Diego business leader wins 2023 HFA Retailer of the Year – Trailblazer Award

SAN DIEGO — A local San Diego business leader has been recognized by the Home Furnishings Association (HFA) for his lifetime achievements in the retail furniture business.

Howard Haimsohn, President of  Lawrance Furniture in San Diego, California has been announced as the 2023 winner of the HFA Retailer of the Year - Trailblazer Award.

The National Trailblazer Award recognizes lifetime achievement in the retail furniture business. A panel of judges comprised of the HFA’s Board of Directors, HFA members, Past ROTY Winners, manufacturers, service providers/suppliers, and industry media voted on the nominations.

"I am both honored and humbled to be receiving the 2023 HFA Retailer of the Year --Trailblazer Award. Throughout my career I have had the privilege of meeting, working with, and becoming friends with some of the best and brightest in our industry," Haimsohn said. "My family and our incredible team at Lawrance Furniture have always supported my efforts and helped me immensely to get to where I am today. This award is something I will truly cherish. Thank you, HFA, for this recognition and honor.”

The HFA CEO, Mark Schumacher will be in San Diego to present the award to Haimsohn on Friday, May 5 in an awards celebration.

“Howard’s dedication to the industry and his leadership in advancing small business make him an exemplary Trailblazer,” said Mark Schumacher, CEO of the HFA.  “He has been a tireless advocate for the interests of small business owners, and his contributions to the industry are immeasurable.”
