CORONADO (CBS 8) - The City of Coronado is working with the U.S. Coast Guard to remove two sailboats that have washed ashore on a beach in Coronado. According to a report, one of the boats is against a rock jetty and is being battered by high winds and surf.
The City is making sure there are no hazardous materials on the ships before removing them.
Attempts to contact one of the owners of the vessels by the City were unsuccessful while the other owner has stated a removal company will be available by Tuesday morning, according to a report.
The sailboats appear to have washed ashore overnight from the Zuniga Jetty free anchorage.
There were no reports of injury or missing persons.
