SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - San Diego joined the rest of the country in honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
For more than three decades, thousands of San Diegans have marched to continue the legacy of the iconic civil rights leader.
The procession included floats, high school bands, drill teams, Greek organizations, churches and nonprofits.
The parade is organized by Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the oldest African American fraternity in the U.S. The fraternity, founded in 1906, counted King among its members, according to the San Diego Tourism Authority.
News 8's Heather Hope reports from the Embarcadero with more on the parade.
