SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) — The Helen Woodward Animal Center wants you to adopt a “Kevin.” The shelter is holding a special promotion in honor of National Kevin Day (also known as National Hug-a-Kevin Day, yes, that’s a thing).
The animal center renamed each of their 35 available puppies “Kevin” after famous namesakes to help get them adopted. The adoptable Kevins include Kevin Hart, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Costner, Kevin Love, Kevin Faulconer and more.
Those interested in meeting the Kevins are invited to visit the center now through the weekend to hug – and hopefully adopt – a Kevin. The shelter says those who adopt one will receive a Kevin-themed gift – passes to see Kevin Hart’s new movie, “Night School.” Kevin adopters will also get a photo with their own new favorite Kevin in front of the “Famous Faces of Kevin Wall.”
“We’ve run out of kennels for all of the incredibly huggable orphan pups we have,” stated Helen Woodward Animal Center Customer Service Manager Dora Dahlke. “We thought that if we invited the public to hug them on National Hug-a-Kevin Day, our Kevins would definitely find their forever families and open up kennels to more waiting pups.”
To adopt one of the Kevins, contact Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Adoption Department at 858-756-4117 ext. 313 or visit AnimalCenter.org.
