DEL MAR (CBS 8) - Surfing has gone to the dogs. More than 80 dogs took to the waves in the nation's largest surf dog contest.
This is the sixth year the Helen Woodward Animal Center hosted the surf-a-thon at Del Mar Dog Beach.
It featured a tribute to police and search & rescue dogs, more than 70 vendor booths, costume contests, and more.
"We're also getting ready to have a people and dogs surf contest. There's just so much going on and it's all a huge fundraiser for Helen Woodward Animal Center."
They expect to raise around $100,000 dollars Sunday.
