CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - The countdown is on to the opening of SeaWorld's new waterpark. Aquatica officially opens to the public Saturday, June 1.
But Tuesday, employees received a preview of the park.
Aquatica is located on the site of the former Knott's Soak City and features waterslides, a 500,000 gallon wave pool, a sandy beach and a 1,200 foot long lazy river.
Officials say the park will also have a unique, SeaWorld, feel.
"It's just fantastic to be surrounded by this type of environment, with sand, with tropical landscape," said David Cromwell the Vice President of Aquatica SeaWorld Waterpark. "We have flamingos and fresh water turtles. It's a true experience unlike any other."
Admission will cost $38 for adults and $30 for children.
