SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - A freeway connector ramp, from eastbound state Route 54 to northbound Interstate 805, in National City was reopened Thursday night after a big rig crash.
The accident happened shortly after 12:15 and a full closure went into effect near 12:30 according to CHP.
Authorities said the driver hit hte guardrail - sending chunks of concrete and pieces of the truck onto Sweetwater Road below. At least five cars were damaged. The big rig driver was taken to the hospital, but no one else was injured.
