SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – On Friday, the City of San Diego celebrated the 100th anniversary of Brown Field Airport.
Local leaders talked about its history, which began as a military airfield and played an important role for the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
Currently it serves a variety of aircraft and could play a key role in the city’s future plans. The City of San Diego took over ownership of Brown Field Airport in 1962.
