SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - This New Year's Day, the California Tower in Balboa Park will open its doors to the public for the first time in nearly 80 years.
The tower was closed to the public shortly after the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition.
It offers spectacular views of Balboa Park and San Diego.
