IMPERIAL BEACH (CBS 8) - Friends and family want answers, after an Imperial Beach man is gunned down by a suspected stalker.
A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday night at the Imperial Beach Pier for Victor Saucedo. The former sailor was shot to death inside his apartment on Tuesday, October 16.
"My dad is the only guy I know. I love him so much, so much," said Victor's son, Jeremiah Saucedo.
Saucedo's ex-girlfriend, Vegas Bray, was detained by deputies outside of his apartment following the shooting and was later booked on first degree murder.
Jeremiah's grandmother, lashed out at law enforcement during the vigil, she said for not taking seriously Saucedo's claims that Bray continually harassed him after they broke up last December.
Friends say she had slashed Saucedo's tires and vandalized his apartment and property.
Now this child has to grow up without a father in his life," continued Stephanie Stratton, Jeremiah's grandmother. "Why did no one help him? Why did no one hear his daddy's cries?"
At the time, authorities said there was not enough evidence to pursue charges.
Bray is set to be arraigned Friday on one count of first degree murder.
