SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A caretaker for an 83-year-old woman found dead last week was charged Monday with murder, after detectives determined that the victim suffered blunt force trauma.
Charmain Antamarian's body was found in a bathroom with signs of trauma, after officers conducted a welfare check at a home in the 2200 block of Citrus Avenue in Palm City last Thursday, San Diego police Lt. Kevin Rooney said.
Antamarian's caretaker, Maria Moore, 70, was originally arrested on suspicion of elder abuse, but that changed after an autopsy on Friday, Rooney said.
Officers were sent to the house after a relative of Antamarian called from Napa because of concerns that the woman was being abused by her caretaker.
Rooney said Moore was taken into custody after she was questioned.
