Caught on Camera: Man lurking around, looking in windows of Carlsbad home

Some neighbors in Carlsbad are hoping home security video will help catch a possible peeping Tom.

CARLSBAD (NEWS 8) — Some neighbors in Carlsbad are hoping home security video will help catch a possible peeping Tom. They say a man has been consistently lurking around their home.

In the security footage taken around 4:30 a.m., an unidentified man can be seen walking right onto a family's driveway in Carlsbad and looking into the window for a few seconds.

Then he walks away, possibly into the family's backyard, then he can be seen again walking across the driveway.

The homeowner says he and his daughter were not home at the time, but they get alerts on their phones whenever the Ring doorbell senses motion.

On another night, after the first incident, another video captured what appears to be the same man.

This time the dad and daughter were home, the dad's truck can be seen in the driveway in the video.

In the video, the guy walks up past the truck and peers through the same window again, this time for a much longer period.

Both dad and daughter were watching him on their phones.

Dad quickly got a baseball bat, and from the footage it appears the peeping Tom sees that he has been spotted and takes off running. Not far behind is dad is seen with the bat with his daughter following, unfortunately the man gets away.

The homeowners say they are worried the peeping Tom may be doing this to other people and want help identifying him. If you have any information, you are asked to call Carlsbad police.

See below for both videos in their entirety.
