SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Protesters upset over the Republican tax plan and those in support of DACA gathered downtown San Diego, blocking traffic on some streets.
The DACA demonstration was being held in front of the San Diego office of Sen. Dianne Feinstein. The act is meant to clarify the status of undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. during their youth.
Republican leaders said the bill will provide help to middle-class Americans, but some Californians may end up paying more.
The group protesting the tax reform was joined by supporters of DACA - Dreamers who say the tax reform bill should include protection for them.
At UC San Diego, tax reform protestors targeted Congressman Darrell Issa, who voted against the bill.
Protestors said they want him to continue voting no on the bill because they are concerned about its impact on health care.
Republican Duncan Hunter was the only San Diego representative to vote in favor of the GOP tax reform bill. His office said he was unavailable to speak with News 8 on Monday.
