SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (CBS 8) - A man killed in a head-on crash in Spring Valley is being remembered as a loving father, devoted school volunteer, gifted cook and diver.
David Reid, 50, was killed on Highway 94 near Steele Canyon High School Friday when a Ford Mustang driven by Andrew Bellatti, 18, crossed the yellow line and hit his minivan head-on.
Authorities said Bellatti was driving at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.
Reid's son, Garrett, was also in the van and suffered a fractured skull, shattered wrist and broken toe.
A memorial for Reid is scheduled at Steele Canyon High School at 2 p.m. Sunday.
