SAN MARCOS (CBS 8) - E-cigarettes appear to be running out of steam in San Marcos.
City council members approved to move forward with an ordinance that would ban the use of electronic cigarettes in public places much like tobacco cigarettes.
Tobacco control advocates are urging the City of San Marcos to join other San Diego municipalities in enacting vape-free policies.
Second-hand aerosol exposure can cause eye and throat irritations, as well as asthma in children.
The proposed ordinance now moves to second reading and will be up for a vote in 30 days.
