CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - Students at Tiffany Elementary School in Chula Vista got their hands dirty Monday planting a new teaching garden full of healthy vegetables and fruits.
"Our students are really excited to be working with their hands and learning about food and plant life, and also where food comes from," principal Joel Tapia said.
School officials hope the new hands-on, garden-based learning will help get students interested in healthy eating.
The garden was partially funded by the American Heart Association and Sharp health plan.
