ENCINITAS (CBS 8) - A beachside bluff gave way in Encinitas Tuesday morning, threatening a retaining wall and creating a dangerous situation for beachgoers.
It happened along Neptune Avenue near Avocado Street. The bulk of the collapse happened last Friday after a severe winter storm soaked the soil for days.
Encinitas city engineers inspected two homes at the top of the bluff and say they are not threatened.
Beachgoers are being warned to stay away from the area.
