On Friday, CBS News 8 sat down with Louise Harrison -- George Harrison's sister -- to talk about what life was like with them on the road.
She remembers the day back in 1964 when her baby brother George performed on "The Ed Sullivan Show" as part of the most successful band in history. It was the Beatles' first live performance in the U.S. Yet all Louise could do was worry, because George had been very sick just days earlier.
"The doctor examined him and said this man is very ill, need to get him into hospital. Immediately Brian Epstein, the manager, he almost had a heart attack. He said we can't let anyone know there's anything wrong with them," Louise said.
Even with a temperature of 104 and strep throat, she says George kept smiling.
"He was at all the press conferences. The doctor told him don't say very much. He didn't, which is how he became the 'quiet Beatle,'" Louise said.
And now 50 years later, Louise is sharing her memories of traveling with the band in her book, "My Kid Brother's Band, aka The Beatles."
Their music still lives on. Even younger Beatles fans like Jorge Hernandez is thrilled Paul McCartney is in town.
"My dad's really into music. I grew up listening to a lot of the Beatles," he said.
On Sunday, he'll be among the thousands enjoying the concert at Petco Park.
On Friday, crews put finishing touches on a giant sign out front. The sold-out show expected to draw in fans from all over the world.
