Explosions, fire destroys RV and scorches Poway home

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of an explosion and fire that destroyed a motor home parked on a Poway residential street, and scorched a nearby home.

POWAY (CBS 8) - Investigators are trying to determine the cause of an explosion and fire that destroyed a motor home parked on a Poway residential street, and scorched a nearby home.

Neighbors say they heard two ear-shattering explosions around 5:45 p.m. Friday along Schaler Drive near Robison Boulevard. The blasts tore through a motor home parked on the street, and flames scorched the side of the house it was parked in front of.

The house suffered smoke and heat damage to several rooms. Nobody was home at the time and no one was injured.

Neighbors say the motor home showed up on the block a week ago, and they have considered it an eye-sore and nuisance.

The RV is registered to 50-year-old Lori Graf. Neighbors say Graf and her partner had been living in the motor home.

Nobody was injured in the explosions or the fire.
