CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - A family of three is out of their home Friday morning after a fast-moving fire tore through their apartment in Chula Vista.
It happened Thursday night on the 200 block of Moss Street. Firefighters say food caught fire and quickly got out of control.
"If somebody encounters a situation like this, I recommend they do what these occupants did, which was get out, call 911, and let us get there to take care of it," said Rob Nelson, Chula Vista Fire Department.
The Red Cross is assisting the family and another tenant whose unit had smoke damage.
No one was hurt.
